Lee Westwood had the round of the day. A 3 under 67 vaults the Englishman up the leaderboard

Lee Westwood has contended in more Majors without winning one than anyone in world. He took a giant step toward erasing that distinction at the Olympic Club Saturday with a 3 under 67. At the moment, he still trails leader Jim Furyk by 3 shots, but has climbed in a tie for 5th, one shot ahead of 17 year old sensation Beau Hossler who just finished his round at even par and stands at plus 3. Heading for home, Jim Furyk is the only player in the red at 1-under par..a shot ahead of Graeme McDowell with 4 holes to play. Tiger Woods started with 4 bogies in his first 8 holes but has rallied a bit and stands at 2 over for the tournament, 3 shots behind playing partner and leader Jim Fruyk.
