Nobody is in red numbers at the U.S. Open early in round 3. Even par sets the pace early.
Tiger Woods has bogied two of his first 3 holes and now trails playing partner Jim Furyk by a shot through 3 holes. Woods has company at one over with David Toms and Belgium's Nicolas Coisserts, and 2010 Open Champion Graeme McDowell at Pebble Beach. 12 players are within 3 shots of the leader. The course got a little watering overnight and this morning, but made not difference in softening the course. The Fairways and greens are firm and fast, and will continue to harden as the day progresses. Webb Simpson is 2 under today with a morning tee time and stands at plus 3 through 16 holes, as does sensational teenager Beau Hossler who continues to astound, with his poise and patience beyond his 17 years. The cool southern Californian is heading to Texas to play College golf.
