Jerry Rice to turn pro in Golf. Football's greatest receiver to compete on Nationwide tour stop at Stonebrae in Hayward mid-April.

He's recognized as the greatest wide receiver in the history of the National Football league, but the NFL Hall of Famer has decided to venture into the humbling world of professional golf, without any amateur credentials. His first attempt comes in mid-April, when the Nationwide Tour comes to Hayward, Ca. at the TCP Stonebrae Course. Rice is certainly a devout golfer, but competing against players who are one step below the PGA tour is like a high school player making it in the NFL. It just doesn't happen. Still, if anybody can pull it off...it's Jerry Rice. Fresh Express has stepped up as title sponsor for the Nationwide tour stop at Stonebrae, thanks primarily to Rice who lends his name and game to the event.
