President's Cup coming to Harding Park in San Francisco

The International Match Play extravaganza which is the Ryder Cup for non-Europeon top pros is set for October 09' at Harding Park. The U.S. team captained by Fred Couples will collide with Greg Norman's squad at the site where Tiger Woods beat John Daly on the second playoff hole of the AmX match play championship in 2005. Preparations are already underway, as the PGA has set up shop of the grounds of Harding Park. The classic finishing hole requiring a drive over Lake Merced will become the 15th hole for the President's Cup, since match play events generally end on the 16th hole. Corporate tents will line the fairway after the "risk-reward" tee shot. Most of the arrangements fall to Harding director of golf Rodney Wilson who provided a preview in the streaming video below.

Sevillano Links..great track, superb practice range with hotel and Casino

Wanna get away? A little over an hour north of Sacramento near Chico, there's a signature course designed by John Daly that can actually be played to a par 90on special occassions with length exceeding 10,000 yards. Every hole has multiple tee boxes, designed to be right for any handicap. Most golfers will simply play the standard 6500 yard layout, but shorter and longer hitters have options at the tee. All grass driving ranges are hard to find, but Sevillano Links prides itself on the practice facility. With a hotel and Rolling Hills casino in the neighborhood, an outing to Corning Ca. is on our agenda. For more info and stay and play packages, visit: www.sevillanolinks.com
